Please choose the most recent firmware to update your Boost Pro SSD from the links below.

NOTE: Firmware updates may result in loss of data. It is important to back up your data before updating your firmware.

Firmware Update Instructions

Windows

  1. Ensure the Boost Pro SSD is installed in your computer.
  2. Download the Firmware Upgrade Tool (Windows).zip and either Boost Pro Firmware – Version 5.0.7 OR Boost Pro Enterprise Firmware – Version 5.1.5 (depending on your product found in above upgrades section) files to your computer desktop.
  3. Unzip the SF_FieldUpdater.exe and the firmware file (ends in .ffp) to your computer desktop.
  4. Right click on SF_FieldUpdater.exe and “Run as Administrator” to launch the software.
  5. The software will automatically scan for the Boost Pro SSD. After the drive labeled EDGE Boost Pro SSD (or similar) appears, click the check mark next to that drive and click Update Firmware…
  6. Select the firmware file (ends in .ffp) and click OK. The upgrade may take a few minutes to complete.
  7. Once the upgrade is complete, you can click Rescan for Drives to verify that the firmware version of the Boost Pro SSD has updated.
  8. Click Exit to close the software.

Linux

  1. Ensure the Boost Pro SSD is installed in your computer.
  2. Download the Firmware Upgrade Tool (Linux).zip and either Boost Pro Firmware – Version 5.0.7 OR Boost Pro Enterprise Firmware – Version 5.1.5 (depending on your product found in above upgrades section) files to your computer desktop.
  3. Unzip the SF_FieldUpdater_FC14-32Bit (if using a 32-bit system) or the SF_FieldUpdater_FC12-64Bit (if using a 64-bit system) to your computer desktop.
  4. Unzip the firmware file (ends in .ffp) to your computer desktop.
  5. Launch the SF_FieldUpdater software.
  6. The software will automatically scan for the Boost Pro SSD. After the drive labeled EDGE Boost Pro SSD (or similar) appears, click the check mark next to that drive and click Update Firmware…
  7. Select the firmware file (ends in .ffp) and click OK. The upgrade may take a few minutes to complete.
  8. Once the upgrade is complete, you can click Rescan for Drives to verify that the firmware version of the Boost Pro SSD has updated.
  9. Click Exit to close the software.

NOTE: This tool is designed to work best with the Fedora operating system. Other versions of Linux may also work, but could possibly require the use of a USB stick and third party bootable software (such as Parted Magic) to run the upgrade tool and successfully update the firmware. Please contact ETC support if you are having problems using the Linux upgrade tool.
